PADH YATRA

Walking India Home

A walking + mythology app that reunites 1.4 billion Indians with the stories beneath their feet.

India Stops Moving

49.4% of urban Indians are physically inactive — the fastest-rising public health crisis on the subcontinent
4,872 walking apps exist globally; none are built around Indian mythology, culture, or sacred geography
₹50,000 Cr/yr lost annually to sedentary-lifestyle-related illness in India — a cost projected to exceed ₹1,20,000 Cr by 2035 if behavioural trends continue

India Forgets Its Stories

71% of Indians under 35 cannot name the sacred geography associated with the Ramayana or Mahabharata
54% of regional oral traditions are at critical risk of disappearing within one generation
2023 marked the first year India's youngest generation reported lower cultural identification than any prior cohort

Three Forces Converging in 2026

01

Cultural Assertiveness

India is reclaiming its civilisational identity at scale. The Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the Ram Mandir consecration, and a generation raised on Adipurush and Ponniyin Selvan signal a nation hungry for its own narrative — in its own tongue, on its own terms.

02

Health Emergency

India faces a silent epidemic: physical inactivity is now the third-highest risk factor for non-communicable disease. Governments, insurers, and employers are actively seeking behaviour-change solutions. Walking is the intervention that works — it just needs a reason compelling enough for compliance.

03

Digital Readiness

700M+ smartphone users. Sub-₹200/month data plans. UPI at 10B+ monthly transactions. India's digital infrastructure has reached the critical mass necessary to deliver ambient, location-aware cultural experiences to every district, every day.

No platform has addressed all three simultaneously. The window is now.

30-Day Seasons

Each season follows one epic thread — Ramayana, Mahabharata, Panchatantra, or regional devotional cycles. New content every 30 days keeps the loop fresh and the narrative advancing.

3-Phase Motivation

Phase 1 (Days 1–10): Novelty and story hunger. Phase 2 (Days 11–20): Social competition and squad identity. Phase 3 (Days 21–30): Completion drive, shrine pride, and legacy inscription. Each phase addresses a different psychological motivator.

Identity Architecture

Players become characters. A dedicated walker becomes Hanuman's Courier. A squad leader becomes a Senapati. A consistent contributor earns a permanent shrine inscription — moving cultural identity from passive consumption to active embodiment.

Three Walkers. One Platform.

The Keeper
Urban professional, 35–55, Tier 1 city
"I feel disconnected from the stories my parents told me. My children have never heard them."

Padh Yatra gives the Keeper a reason to walk every morning — and a language to pass the stories forward. The app becomes the ritual their generation was missing.

The Returning
NRI / diaspora, 28–45, Singapore / UAE / US
"I want to feel Indian again — not through cricket or Bollywood, but through something that actually goes deep."

Padh Yatra becomes their cultural anchor. The shrine they build in the app mirrors the India they carry in memory — and they walk for it, even in a foreign city.

The Builder
Young adult, 18–30, Tier 2/3 city, vernacular-first
"I want to be proud of where I'm from — but nothing I've seen on my phone makes me feel that way."

Padh Yatra speaks the Builder's language — literally. Regional language support, local shrine geography, and competitive squad mechanics make cultural pride feel earned, not inherited.

An Unfair Advantage Already Earned

1 Crore
The SSG Community

StepSetGo built India's largest organised step-tracking community. These 1 crore members already formed the habit of walking for a reward. They already trust the platform. They are not cold leads — they are Padh Yatra's day one user base.

Day One
User Base

Most consumer platforms launch cold — spending ₹180–240 per acquired user to build a base from nothing. Padh Yatra launches warm: 1 crore walkers who already know the loop, already trust the product, already have the habit. That is a structural advantage no competitor can buy.

Padh Yatra does not launch cold. It launches into 1 crore members who have already been walking.

Your family's name.
In the shrine it belongs to.
Forever.

The Name

Every founding patron's name — in Devanagari, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, or Latin script — is carved into the digital stone of the shrine they choose. Not a profile. Not a follower count. A name. On a wall. In a place that matters.

The Shrine

Padh Yatra is mapped to 108 sacred sites across the Indian subcontinent — from Varanasi to Rameswaram, from Dwarka to Kamakhya. Each patron chooses the shrine that carries meaning for their lineage, their devotion, or their geography. The inscription is permanent and immutable.

The Deed

The inscription is not merely digital. Founding patrons at Vaidya tier and above receive a physical deed — printed on archival paper, sealed with the platform's mudra, naming the patron, the shrine, the date of founding, and the season in which their name was first walked. A document for a grandchild's grandchild.

The question is not whether this platform should exist.

The question is whether we will build it in time.

What Gets Built

  • Season 1 — The Ramayana Trail, fully playable
  • Shrine construction and artefact mechanics
